Diagnostic Tag

Overview

Holds a rolling log of system messages — this is the tag type behind a connector's %DEBUG and %INFO channels. Each reading is a timestamped message rather than a plain value.

Value

A message (a number, a description, and details), most recent messages first, up to the tag's Cache Size.

Transform Options

DiagnosticTag doesn't support Transform — the field is ignored entirely for this type, even if something is entered into it.

Type Attributes

DiagnosticTag doesn't use Type Attributes — the field has no effect if set.

Notes

• This type is normally created automatically by Collect itself (every connector gets its own %DEBUG and %INFO tags) rather than added manually by an end user — it's documented here mainly so its behaviour is understood when reviewing a connector's diagnostics.
